KanDarm Medical Billing Service Understands that you are Overwhelmed

KanDarm Medical Billing Service helps guide you through this process. Whether you are leaving a large group, hospital, or just want to practice on your own turf, we understand.

We have helped a lot of our clients with new practice set up and have created this suggested list to help you get started. Keep in mind that you need to start planning as much as 12 months prior to your actual launch date.

1) Decide if you and your family can devote most of your time towards the practice for 18 to 24 months. Remember that this is going to be a financial struggle. Can you afford to invest thousands of dollars and be in debt for 6 to 12 months or longer? Are you prepared for this mentally and financially?

2) Decide if your comfort level is high enough to go it alone or you will need a colleague/partnership for second opinions.

3) Decide on your location - It is a very good idea to scout out more than one location. Check out the communities of interest, you can find demographic research at the Census Bureau. Keep in mind that you have to look at the demographics of the doctors practicing in the area. Is there a need or the area is congested with your specialty?

4) How about marketing? Are you motivated and have the time to create your patient base or are you planning to invest the money and find a good marketing team? Either way, now is the time to start using some free advertising. Please check our resources page for our recommendation.

5) So you have decided whether or not you are going to go it alone, on your location and how you are going to market. Now it is time to solicit your team of professionals. During this time you will need to consult with an accountant, an attorney and of course a management consultant. Make sure that a meeting is held with all consultants as soon as possible. This will create a clear picture to all involve and eliminate as much issues as possible.

6) KanDarm Medical Billing Service strongly recommends that you establish memberships with professional organizations that benefits you most. If you are not a member of any organizations, now is the time to establish membership with organizations such as American Medical Association or any other organization that benefit you. Take the time to shop for medical supplies and clothing on sale.

7)Hopefully, with the help of your consultants you have already decided on your business structure. Will you structure as a Sole Proprietor, Corporation, Partnership, or Limited Liability Company?

8) What is your start-up cost? How much will you need to cover payroll and overhead in the early months? Now is the time to create your business plan.

9) Check with the yellow pages, you need to know the deadline for submitting your advertisements. The yellow pages are created once a year so all ads need to be submitted by a certain deadline. Do not miss this deadline or you will have to wait for another year. Start creating your business cards and other business stationery at OvernightPrints.com. They offer a wide variety of of print services with great prices and a fast turn around.

10) If you have decided not to go it alone, it is time to make sure that you and your professional team have created and reviewed your partnership contracts.

Okay so you have done your due diligence and are a few months out of actually opening your practice. So what is next? Give KanDarm Medical Billing Service a call so that we can discuss your software and billing options. We can also help you with the design of your forms.

We cannot stress enough the importance of good planning. Start putting your list together as to what you will need to open your doors. Do not forget your office supplies, office gadgets and books etc.

As you build your practice, you will notice that it is best to be internet savvy. Make your presence known on the World Wide Web, and create your own website using a good variety of excellent graphics. Royalty Free Images
